A very satisfying and mesmerizing salute to the Apollo space program. I couldn't think of a better way to re-showcase archival footage than the way you did. The best I've seen since "In The Shadow of the Moon". Bravo!!

Hey Realdeal, why don't you tell us how YOU would make an historical film about the Lunar landng without using any archival footage, VO, and sound bites? Better yet, post YOUR film and let us all take a look at it. It never ceases to amaze me how some people post negative comments just to inform everyone else how much they don't like something simply because they couldn't do as well themselves.
Kudos to Mr Ferron for a job well done! The film is an excellent message to a generation that didn't even exist at the time and who can only experience history through excellent films like Mr Ferron's.

Excellent production. Great time lapse of the moon presenting it as a "character" in the film. Nice use of archival Kennedy and NASA audio to set the scene and take viewer though the clips. Great editing, music and timing. Nice job. Would love to see this in IMAX or even Blu-ray.

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first men landing on the moon, 9 months were spent capturing the moon using time lapse and HD camcorders in order to create a modern look at the Apollo 11 lunar landing at the Sea of Tranquility. Using interval timers on the Nikon D2HS and Nikon D3, the moon was captured while crossing the night skies in the Baltimore area. Quicktime was used to create time lapse movie files, and the original work was edited along with archive footage from the 1960's to give the viewer a fresh perspective while looking back in time as the United States leaped into an era that transformed the world.
